SENIOR RESEARCH EXECUTIVE/RESEARCH MANAGER

Salary commensurate with experience, skills, and education

Working hours:
Full or part time considered. Minimum 3 days per week 9am – 5pm with 1 hour break. Full time hours are Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm (35 hours per week)

Location of work:
Hybrid. Home and office. At least 2 days per week (if full-time) from the head office address: Meadow Lane, Sudbury, CO10 2TD.

Job Brief

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Research Manager who will play a pivotal role in our department. As a Research Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of research projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. You will also focus on client and relationship management to drive growth and expand our capabilities. Key responsibilities

Project Management & Research Execution:

  • Lead research projects from inception to completion, encompassing scoping, methodology development, data collection, analysis, and reporting, ensuring adherence to timelines, service level agreements, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Execute primary and secondary research initiatives, emphasising idea generation, data gathering, analysis, and model implementation.
  • Evaluate market dynamics, competitive landscape, trends, and their impact.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary client liaison, fostering strong relationships and understanding their needs.
  • Provide consultative guidance, identify opportunities for additional services, and expand revenue from key clients.
  • Schedule and attend client meetings for project kick-offs, reviews, and ongoing communication.

Analysis & Insight Generation:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses to derive valuable insights.
  • Address unstructured problems and offer data-driven solutions, including model building and market data analysis.
  • Understand evolving market trends and customer behaviour to fuel growth and innovation.

Strategy Support:

  • Assist in strategic and market research projects, encompassing trend assessment, data analysis, initiative evaluation, and project planning. Working closely with the Research Director, Gemma Mackman.

Collaboration & Team Management:

  • Bring an external perspective through in-depth market research into discussions with broader strategy teams.
  • Effectively liaise with internal teams, external suppliers, and manage a small team if applicable.

Business Development & Quality Assurance:

  • Identify new opportunities for service expansion, leveraging a deep understanding of agency offerings.
  • Provide consultation on project planning, scope, and account growth for key clients.
  • Ensure high-quality data delivery through general quality checks and accessible reporting.

Delivery & Reporting:

  • Oversee the development and timely delivery of insight outputs, including discussion papers, survey analyses, and reports.
  • Maintain compliance with internal standards and service level agreements.
  • Craft reports and deliverables that relate findings to broader business objectives in a clear and actionable manner.

requirements – knowledge, skills, and experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in market research, consumer insights development, and project management, including full project lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience working in accordance with budgets, and service level agreements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct data analysis.
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research techniques.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, time management and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), IT proficiency and understanding of statistics.
  • Relevant degree level qualification with evidence of ongoing CPD.

Desirable

  • Relevant post-graduate qualification
  • Market Research Society (MRS) membership.
  • CIM and/ or CIPR membership.
  • Previous experience of working in a creative/research/marketing agency.

We have regular staff socials including a summer social which normally includes freshly made pizza, salads and a BBQ in our newly refurbished courtyard garden. At Christmas, we naturally all go out together to eat a little too much. There are other excuses to go out together like to celebrate staff life events and milestones.
