Hello! My name is Farzana and I'm a Researcher at Mackman Research. My role focuses on performing B2B customer satisfaction surveys, customer research & perception surveys, NPS surveys, competitor research with a special interest in social research. I am a Scientist by training, having done my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences at Queen Mary University of London, followed by a Masters at UCL in Infection and Immunity. After working at the Institute of Cancer Research for a year, I returned to Queen Mary to complete a PhD in Immunology. I have been lucky to present my research findings at national conferences and be chosen to represent the UK at an international competition.
During my PhD, I undertook a business consultancy internship which revealed to me how quickly people's lives can be benefitted through well-informed business decisions. My first insight into social research was when I began volunteering as a Consultant Researcher for my local community, where I was involved in performing the first health needs assessment in the North East Essex Bangladeshi population. A running theme in all my research interests has been to draw meaningful insights that benefit people and their lives. Starting this next stage of my career with Mackman Research has provided me with the perfect opportunity to pursue this further.
I felt valued on my first day at Mackman Research where I was asked to offer my opinion on a project report that was being finalised. I felt even more honoured when my opinion was not only heard, but included in the same report as a contribution that I was entrusted to write. This early experience showed me that Mackman Research truly listen to all voices. I have since been given the opportunity to participate in a variety of projects at Mackman and oversee processes from start to finish.
I love getting lost in a book with a good cup of tea. As a creative outlet, I up-cycle furniture to bring a new lease of life to previously worn pieces. My family and friends are a big part of my life and I enjoy travelling too.
